Paolo Di Canio has submitted an application to become the new Rotherham United manager, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Rotherham decided to dispense with the services of Neil Redfearn following their defeat against Bolton Wanderers this weekend and a host of managerial candidates have already been linked with the post at the New York Stadium.
It is believed that former Sunderland manager and West Ham United hero Di Canio is interested in the vacant managerial post despite the fact the Millers are facing a relegation battle.
And his interest a Tyne-Wear battle with news that former Newcastle United boss John Carver is also keen on the post wth the South Yorkshire outfit.
Rotherham currently sit 22nd in the 24-team Championship standings.
