Australia's all-time leading goalscorer in internationals, Damian Mori, is the favourite to take over the vacant assistant coaching role with Gold Coast United.
The 39-year old, who netted 29 goals in 45 Socceroos appearances, has emerged as the frontrunner to replace former teammate Paul Okon as Miron Bleiberg's number two.
He is currently in Sydney at a Football Federation Australia coaching course along with Bleiberg and reports suggest that he is highly likely to join the Robina-based club.
"Of course I'm interested if the chance comes along," Mori said.
Bleiberg added: "Yes, he is certainly one of the candidates."
