Ex-Singapore national team players are getting behind the Football Association of Singapore to help the youth of the nation. In a bid to improve national sports associations, former footballers are being employed as administrators and coaches to develop youth programs around the country.
Singapore Sports Council's chief of High Performance, Wayde Clews told the Electric New Paper, "Given their experience in the sporting environment, they are often well in tune with the needs and the challenges facing the sport, the athletes and even the officials.
"Therefore, they can potentially contribute as good drivers and implementers of local sports programmes to further develop the sport in Singapore."
