Blackpool interim manager Barry Ferguson is urging a positive mindset from his players.
The former Rangers, Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City midfielder took charge of the Seasiders on January 21 following the sacking of Paul Ince and had overseen them in eight Championship matches before Tuesday night's meeting with Millwall.
Blackpool's last victory came on November 30 last year when they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 but Ferguson was able to steer the Bloomfield Road outfit to a 1-0 home triumph over the visiting Lions.
The ex-Scotland international said his team talk prior to the encounter lasted less than half a minute as he continues to portray confidence and positivity in his role as caretaker of the Lancashire club.
"All I asked on Monday morning was to go out and be positive, I didn't want any negativity about the place because of the position we've been in for a number of months," Ferguson said after Ricardo Fuller's 14th-minute header sent them to 18th on the tier two table.
"The team talk lasted probably about 20 seconds at most. It was just quick and I got everything I asked of them.
"I just said go out and be positive and if you give me everything you've got after the game I'll be a happy man - and they did that today.
"It was one of the worst games I've watched but I couldn't care less; it's three points and it stops the rot."
Ferguson added: "Since I've took over the fans have been excellent - when I've passed them in the street, when I've bumped into them.
"Since I've been here they've always been behind me, even when I was playing they were always behind me, even though we were going through a difficult period.
"This is probably the most difficult period I've ever known in football, not just with myself. They were excellent today, they never stopped from the first whistle to the last whistle."
