Real Valladolid forward Alberto Bueno is in talks with Derby County.
The 22-year-old, who came through the Real Madrid youth system, watched Derby's 2-2 npower Championship draw against QPR at Pride Park on Saturday.
Bueno and Valladolid president Carlos Suarez were shown around the club's Moor Farm training ground on Sunday and held talks about a possible move - probably a season-long loan deal.
"We have enjoyed productive talks with the player and Real Valladolid and hope for an outcome before the transfer window closes," said a Derby spokesman.
Bueno made three appearances for the Real Madrid first team. He joined Real Valladolid for around £3million a year ago and signed a five-year contract.
