Former Rangers star Miller leaves Vancouver Whitecaps

Kenny Miller has departed MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps after club and player mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

The 34-year old Scottish striker has departed the Canadian outfit after joining from Cardiff City in July 2012, scoring 13 goals and producing three assists in 45 appearances.

Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson thanked Miller for the influence he made at the club during his near two-year stay in British Columbia.

"We are thankful for the contributions Kenny made both on and off the pitch during his time in Vancouver," said Robinson.

"He has been a great role model, a constant professional, and someone who I consider a very good friend. We wish him and his family all the best."

Miller is expected to return to his homeland of Scotland with reports suggesting he could be set for a third spell with Glasgow outfit Rangers where he has trained sporadically over the past year or so.
