Vancouver Whitecaps has signed Moroccan midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy.
The 30-year old was selected by the Canadian club in the second stage of the 2013 MLS Re-Entry Draft last month and has now been added to the Whitecaps' roster.
Vancouver head coach Carl Robinson knows former Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids man Ballouchy well from their time spent together at New York Red Bulls and was happy to bring him to BC Place ahead of the 2014 MLS campaign.
"We are excited to welcome Mehdi to Vancouver," said Robinson.
"Having had the opportunity to work with Mehdi in New York, I am very familiar with the type player he is on the field and professional he is off the field. Mehdi will be a great addition to our club."
Ballouchy added: "I'm excited to be in Vancouver.
"This is a great club, with a fantastic atmosphere, and terrific players and staff. Robbo is someone I think really highly of. He knows the game very well and I'm excited to be in his plans."
