Former Newcastle, Inter Milan striker Martins attracting LA Galaxy interest
Obafemi Martins has emerged as the latest transfer target for MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy.
The 27-year old Nigerian striker, currently with Russian club Rubin Kazan, is attracting interest from the Galaxy but at this stage he says it is only speculation.
“I’m on holidays right now and need to enjoy it without worrying about anything like a transfer.”“I have been told by some people about this interest a few days ago, but at the moment I remain a player of Rubin Kazan and I still have a year and half of my contract to run even though that could be like around the corner,” Martins told MTNFootball.com.
Martins joined Rubin from German club VfL Wolfsburg in July 2010 after successful stints with Newcastle United and Inter Milan after kicking off his career Reggiana in 2001. He has also had a loan spell with Birmingham City for whom he scored the winner in the Carling Cup final against Arsenal last year.
