Skysports.com claims that Birmingham would like to talk with Chris Hughton over the manager's job. The former Newcastle United manager was linked to the West Brom post earlier this year, and the chance of working with Martin Jol at Fulham.
But now he could be offered the chance to replace Alex McLeish at the helm at St Andrews as they look to bounce straight back into the Premiership after relegation on the final day of the campaign.
However, acting chairman Peter Pannu and his staff are also considering Portsmouth's Steve Cotterill with Roberto Di Matteo, Gianfranco Zola and Alan Curbishley also being linked.
