Former Man Utd star Robson leads Thailand to victory

Former Manchester United star Bryan Robson led the Thailand national team to their first victory in his care. Thailand defeated Myanmar champions Yadanarbon in the first match of the four-team Phuket Challenge, winning 2-0 on Tuesday.

Robson, who took over from Peter Reid at the start of the month, said it was a pleasing performance.

"We created a lot of chances and many players did well and I'm pleased with our passing and attacking game," the Bangkok Post quoted Robson as saying.

"Every game is important for me although this was just a friendly game. It gave me confidence in my team and we will continue to work hard."

Thailand are currently in preparation for two important Asian Cup qualifiers against Singapore in November.
