Former Man Utd skipper Keane wants managerial return

Roy Keane has revealed he has plans to get back into club management.

The Republic of Ireland assistant is riding high after helping guide his nation qualify for the 2016 European Championships courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate play-off win over Bosnia & Herzegovina and is pondering life at club level once again.

Former Manchester United captain Keane has already had stints at Sunderland and Ipswich Town and suggests he is now ready to try his hand at the caper once more but only after his duties under Martin O'Neill are complete.

"I'm going to meet with Martin over the next couple of weeks. He knows that I still have that ambition to get back into it," said 44-year-old Keane.

"I certainly want to stay on for the Euros then we'll play it by ear.

"Stuff has come up but I've always been very focused on the job here.

"We'll have a look at that again in the next few months but as I've said I'm not one for applying for jobs or ringing people.

"Will this get me back in the window? I don't know, but I'm enjoying the role, it's great to be back."
