David Beckham will purchase a MLS expansion franchise now that he has retired from the game.
The 38-year old English midfielder pulled the pin on a brilliant career last week and will now step straight into club ownership as his MLS rights allow him to do.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain man has confirmed that he will exercise a clause in his MLS contract which gives him the right to own a franchise in the North American top flight.
"I have the right to own a franchise, which I will action immediately after I stop playing," said Beckham.
