Gary Neville says there needs to be some sort of measured approach put in place to help develop English talent.
The Premier League is arguably the best league in world football but the vast majority of players come from abroad to strut their stuff in England's top flight.
Former Manchester United captain Neville feels something has got to give for the future of English football much in the way that Spain runs their successful La Liga competition which subsequently sees the national team as world champions.
"We cannot go back to having no foreigners," he said.
"I am proud of the fact the Premier League is a global success, but there is a tipping point.
"Messi and Ronaldo play in Spain. But 63 per cent of players in La Liga are their own nationality.
"We need to give more chances to our own. Why can't we find players in Manchester?"
