Diego Forlan could be close to be securing a move back to Europe.
The Uruguayan is currently plying his trade with Mumbai City in India, but the Sun reports that he is on the verge of signing with Norwegian club Sandefjord.
The 38-year old, who had stints with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, was named the best player of the FIFA 2010 World Cup and has earned 112 caps for his country.
Sandefjord head scout Terje Liverod confirmed that the deal is currently being negotiated.
He said: "I have known Diego for years and can confirm he is open to a move to Sandjeform and followed our 3-0 victory over Tromso in the Eliteserien online.
"We are working on a deal to get Forlan to Sandefjord.
"The opportunity to sign him is there, but we are talking about a lot of money, so we have to be realistic."
