Former Man Utd and Aston Villa defender McGrath arrested

The former Republic of Ireland international Paul McGrath was arrested at the weekend over alleged public order offences, reports The Guardian. The 53-year-old was arrested by gardaí near the Tullamore Court Hotel in Co Offaly on Saturday afternoon after complaints were made that a man was being loud and annoying others in the area, a senior officer confirmed.

McGrath was taken to a local garda station where he was charged under Sections 4 and 6 of the Public Order Act. He was bailed and will appear at Tullamore district court on 17 July.
