Former Manchester City striker Rodney Marsh does not believe that Paul Pogba will be able to emulate Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard.
It is no secret that Pogba is arguably one of the best young midfielders in world football and Juventus teammate Andrea Pirlo had recently given a glowing assessment of the Frenchman's abilities by stating that he has the potential to become the greatest midfielder in Europe.
However, Marsh does not share Pirlo's sentiments regarding Pogba and has insisted that the former Manchester United youngster will never be as influential as Gerrard or Lampard.
"No, it's never going to happen," Marsh told talkSPORT, when asked about Pirlo's quotes.
"Paul Pogba doesn't score enough goals. He won't get anywhere near close to Frank Lampard, ever.
"Pirlo has said he's going to become the greatest thing in Europe. No he's not. He won't be as good as Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard."
