Former Norwich, Newcastle and Manchester City forward Darren Huckerby has announced he is '99 per cent' certain his playing career is over after suffering a hip injury. The 33-year-old currently plays for San Jose Earthquakes in America but his contract runs out at the end of the season.
"I've got to give it a chance to see how it is but I'm 99% sure that I am done," he told the Eastern Daily Press.
"I look at where I started at the bottom of the third division and I have done everything that I have wanted to do in the game."
Huckerby started out as a youngster with Lincoln before joining Newcastle and then Coventry in 1996.
He spent three successful years with the Sky Blues and also had stints with Leeds and Manchester City.
