Former Liverpool, Villa striker Heskey a popular figure as Newcastle Jets sell out of shirts

Emile Heskey's move to Newcastle Jets has been an immediate hit with the A-League club already selling out of replica shirts.

The former Liverpool, Aston Villa and England striker joined the Jets on September 21 and already the club has had to put in a new order of 5,000 shirts after selling out of the initial order.

Heskey is yet to arrive in Australia but has been training with former club Wigan Athletic in order to keep himself fit ahead of the 2012/13 A-League season which kicks off for the Jets with Adelaide United's visit on October 7.
