Former Liverpool, Sunderland striker Cisse linked with Sounders, Galaxy

French striker Djibril Cisse is being linked with a move to Major League Soccer with Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy being named as potential destinations.

The 29-year old former Auxerre, Liverpool, Marseille and Sunderland man has been scoring a bucket of goals in Greece for Panathinaikos over the past few years but could be on his way to MLS according to some reports.

Greek site Sportsday linked Cisse to the Sounders: "The lineup of players who previously had been linked with US teams included in Djibril Cisse. The Panathinaikos striker is a target of the Seattle Sounders, but more to come," read a translated excerpt.

Then the following day he was rumoured to have visited Los Angeles and the Galaxy: "In proximity to the coaches of the Los Angeles Galaxy this morning was that of Djibril Cisse, as the site espn.go.com stated, without making known the reason for his visit.

"In the past, the French striker has expressed reluctance to move to MLS, and as he has said his priority is to fight for a spot on a team in England, France or Italy."
