Former Liverpool star Ziege keen on managerial career

Former English Premier League star Christian Ziege has revealed his ambition to forge a career in the world of management.

Ziege played with Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Tottenham in the EPL along with Bayern Munich and AC Milan in Germany and Italy and now wants to turn his hand to coaching.

The former Germany international spent just two months in an assistant coaching role with Borussia Monchengladbach starting in October 2008 but handed in his resignation.

After that experience, Ziege believes he can step up to the mark of head coach down the track.

"I know that I definitely want to be a manager and coach a team in the future," he told Kicker.

"Maybe in the Bundesliga or in another big competition like Spain, Italy or England.

"I really think I can stand such a challenge. The ten-day spell I had as interim manager at Borussia was the best period I enjoyed at the club.

"It was the spark which decided where my future will lie."
