Chilean striker Marcelo Salas has announced his retirement, ending a career which included time at Lazio and Juventus.

Salas scored 33 goals for Lazio in a three year period before joining Juventus, where he had less success only scoring four goals in 25 appearances.

Since leaving Italy Salas has spent time at River Plate before joining his current club Universidad de Chile, where he will complete the season before hanging up his boots for good.
