MLS expansion franchise Montreal Impact have waived midfielder Ian Westlake ahead of their inaugural season in North America's top flight.

The 28-year old former Ipswich Town and Leeds United man joined the Impact when in the NASL last campaign and then signed a MLS deal in December.

However, he will not be a part of the 2012 roster after the Montreal club decided to release him from his contract.
