Nottingham Forest are showing interest in Egyptian defender Ahmed Fathy.

According to Sky Sports, the 29-year old Al Ahly star has emerged as a January target for promotion-chasing Forest and could make the move to the City Ground this week.

Previously, Fathy spent time with Sheffield United in 2007 prior to a brief loan at Hull City last year and he is believed to be keen on a return to English football.
