Former Fulham, Tottenham ace Dempsey expecting Seattle Sounders adjustment

Clint Dempsey expects to spend some time adjusting to his new environment following his move to Seattle Sounders.

The USA star completed his surprise shift from Tottenham to the MLS club last weekend and upon completing his first training session with his new club, was imagining a slight adaptation period in Seattle.

"It's always difficult when you go to a new team. There's a little bit of an adjustment period, but at the same time I'm lucky I know a few of the guys here," he told the Seattle Times.

"I've played with them over the years or with the national team, so that helps getting more comfortable. Yeah, it's just about getting in games and making a difference.

"I think once you're able to help the team win in some capacity, whether it's assists or getting goals, I think you start to get on a streak from there. I think that's the key getting settled in - once I get my first goal or assist."

Dempsey expects to play some part this weekend as he prepares for his Sounders debut against Toronto FC at BMO Field.
