Former Fulham striker Collins John signs with Chicago Fire
Collins John has officially signed with MLS club Chicago Fire it has been reported.
The 24-year old Liberian-born Dutch striker reportedly agreed terms with the Fire last Wednesday and the deal was completed on Thursday although there is still some paperwork to be finalised including his International Transfer Certificate.
The signing of John was confirmed by Fire technical director Frank Klopas.
“We are very excited to have Collins join the Chicago Fire," Klopas said in a statement. "Collins is a talented player and he will be a great addition to the club. He is a quick and powerful forward with a nose for goal and we believe he will be a good fit to the attacking style we will play this season."
John has previously played for English Premier League club Fulham, where he enjoyed a stellar season in 2005/06 as top goalscorer.
He began his career in Holland with FC Twente before joining the Cottagers and then moved to Belgian club Roeselare after loans with Leicester City, Watford and NEC Nijmegen.
