Zac MacMath is fast establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Major League Soccer.
The 22-year old has kept four clean sheets (shutouts) in his past five outings for the Philadelphia Union to take his season total nine which is equal in the league.
MacMath, who trialled with Everton last winter, is also in the top five for saves and feels he has what it takes to continue at the top for the Union.
“It reconfirms that I can be one of the best goalkeepers in this league,” MacMath told MLSsoccer.com.
“I’ve always thought that but I haven’t really proven it. I’m just trying to prove it not just to myself but to my teammates and the coaching staff.”
And when asked if this is his best stretch of form in his career, MacMath added: “That I can remember, yeah. Obviously the first season when I played in eight straight games, I felt like I was in really good form then. But right now, I feel really good and really confident going into the rest of the season.”
