Former Everton, NQ Fury defender Hughes joins Bury
English League One club Bury FC have signed defender Mark Hughes on a two-year deal.
The 24-year old, who kicked off his career at Everton before having stints at Stockport County, Northampton Town, Walsall and North Queensland Fury, is the first signing for the promoted Shakers this off-season.
Richie Barker’s squad finished second in League Two last term and have gone about strengthening their squad by bringing in Hughes, who still needs to pass a medical and obtain an international clearance before the deal is complete.
