David Moyes has met with incoming Aston Villa owner Toby Xia, according to The Telegraph.

Former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes is said to be contemplating a return to football management with the relegated club and is the current favourite to take the reins at Villa Park.

Xia's £75million takeover of the club is still awaiting approval from the Premier League and Football League, but it's expected that the Chinese owner will make a managerial appointment before the weekend once everything is tied up.

Niger Pearson and Roberto Di Matteo have also been linked with the job but Moyes, who was sacked by Real Sociedad in November, is the reported frontrunner.
