Former Everton, Birmingham forward McFadden back at Motherwell

James McFadden has returned to former club Motherwell to undergo pre-season training.

The 29-year old Scotland international is looking to resurrect his career after an injury-hit last few seasons and has been given the opportunity by 'Well boss Stuart McCall to train with the squad with a short-term deal potentially on the cards.

McFadden was released by Everton at the end of last season after signing a deal in October but the Toffees hardly used him and his second stint at Goodison Park was over.

McFadden has been unable to get back to his best since seriously injuring a knee whilst with Birmingham City in 2010 and is hoping he can get back to playing regularly, quite possible with Motherwell who he left in 2003 to join Everton.
