Former England boss Hodgson £8m Chinese Super League target

Roy Hodgson has emerged as a target for the burgeoning Chinese Super League, according to reports.

The Daily Mail is of the belief that the CSL are prepared to offer the recently-departed England boss a massive yearly salary of £8million.

68-year-old Hodgson is believed to be pondering the next move in his career after stepping down from the Three Lions job in the wake of England's embarrassing loss to Iceland in the Round of 16 at Euro2016.

CSL chiefs are eager for the experienced Hodgson, who earned around £3.5m-a-year with the FA, to take the reins of one of their 16 clubs or at least join the league in a consultancy role.

Another former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, is already in China coaching Shanghai SIPG while there are plenty of big-name players leaving Europe to pay for clubs in the Far East's improving competition.
