Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar have signed former Chelsea youngster Morten Nielsen.

The Dane has joined on a free transfer, signing a two-year deal after passing a medical yesterday.

The 19-year old said he was looking forward to the challenge.

"It is a big challenge that awaits me over the coming years," Niels en told Ekstra Bladet.

"But that is exactly what I wanted.

"AZ believe in me and Ronald Koeman has said that he will play me."
