Steve Houston has joined the scouting staff at Sunderland.
The Sunderland Echo says Houston has followed Sunderland's new technical director Lee Congerton to the Stadium of Light.
Welshman Congerton was confirmed as the successor to the sacked director of football Roberto De Fanti last week after leaving his role at Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
Congerton has brought Houston, who worked alongside him at both Chelsea and Hamburg, to the Stadium of Light and he will be the club's new head of scouting and player recruitment.
