Former Chelsea boss wins Thailand Cup Final

Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant has led his BEC Tero side to victory in Thailand's Toyota Cup Final. They beat defending champions and favourites Buriram United 2-0 in front of a 50,000 capacity crowd in Bangkok.

Grant told skysports.com: "I'm delighted for the players, the supporters and the owner. To beat the holders so convincingly is a great achievement. The atmosphere was as good as I've experienced."

BEC Tero owner Brian Marcar added: "Avram has helped us to deliver to the supporters our first trophy for 12 years. We have a lot of good young players in Thailand but what we don't have is good teachers, that's why it's so important to attract people like Avram Grant to come and work here.

"It's all about building for next season now and I'm looking forward to a very bright future at the club."
