Celtic great Danny McGrain always knew that Neil Lennon would make it to the top in the management game.
41-year old Lennon and 62-year old McGrain first worked together in 2009 when they took over the Celtic development squad and are back in tandem now the latter is the Hoops first team coach.
McGrain saw something in Lennon back when he kicked off his coaching career and since again working firsthand has seen a massive improvement in the Northern Irishman.
"I worked beside Neil with the development team and I could see he was a very intelligent person," McGrain told SunSport.
"He's also very strict. But I've seen just how intelligent he is through his team talks and his planning with the first team. That's all been excellent.
"I've worked under Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan and I wouldn't say Neil's any better or worse than them. It's like asking what the difference is between Pele and Messi. They've all got great attributes.
"Lenny's only in his second year and he's come on in leaps and bounds."
