More than 20 years since Davie Hay occupied the Celtic hotseat, but his advice to a new manager is simple - be better than Rangers. Asked what favourite Tony Mowbray can expect if he does take over the helm at Celtic, Hay said: "The basic concept is the same - you have to finish above Rangers.
"That was the case in my time and it hasn't changed.
"There is maybe more media scrutiny now and there is more intense media coverage."
"I think when you are at Celtic and Rangers you just get on with your own job," he added.
"Whatever happens at either side, you concentrate on yourself. You deal with each other when you play each other."
