Former Birmingham, Swansea, QPR midfielder Williams to trial with NYRB

Englishman journeyman Tom Williams could be set for Major League Soccer as he prepares for a trial with New York Red Bulls.

The 31-year old midfielder, who has played with 13 different British clubs since 1998, will arrive in New York to begin training on Monday according to the NY Post.

Former Birmingham City, Swansea and QPR man Williams has been tweeting with Red Bulls players Corey Hertzog and Matt Kassel recently with one of his latest posts suggesting he will be at the Red Bull Arena very soon.

“talk to me pal is it freezing ? I land tomorrow for training” he tweeted to Kassel.
