Aberdeen have taken former Belgium international defender Pieter Collen on trial until the end of the week, reports the Press and Journal. The 28 year old is a team-mate of former Dons midfielder Jeffrey de Visscher at Dutch Second Division side SC Cambuur Leeuwarden, having previously played in Holland for Feyenoord and NAC Breda.
Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood said: "I was aware of Pieter when I was in Holland and he joined NEC shortly after I left.
"He has a good pedigree, but he has been unlucky. He has suffered a few injuries and he has been messed about with some transfers. We are looking at him this week and he can have a look at us, but it will be the end of the season before anything is likely to happen."
