Sunderland are showing interest in Dutch defender Ron Vlaar according to reports.
The 30-year old centre-back is a free agent after leaving Aston Villa and has now emerged on the summer transfer radar of the Black Cats suggests the Chronicle.
Vlaar is unlikely to sign a new deal with Villa anytime soon which has attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs and some teams in Europe.
Sunderland, with Dutchman Dick Advocaat at the helm, are eyeing a possible move for former Feyenoord star Vlaar as they look to reinforce their defence. Liverpool's Sebastian Coates and Celtic's Virgil van Dijk are also on the radar of the Wearside club.
