Former Arsenal star Ian Wright believes Arsene Wenger needs to bring in a hard-nosed midfielder.
Following the 2-1 loss to Manchester United on the weekend, Wright wants the French tactician to sign somebody who can deal with the bullying tactics used by Sir Alex Ferguson, something the Gunners have dealt with well in the past.
"When I played for Arsenal, we never let ourselves to be bullied," Wright wrote in his column in The Sun.
"The likes of Tony Adams and Patrick Vieira would stand toe-to-toe with opponents and say: Have some of that!
"Arsenal need to sign someone like AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso, an experienced, tough-tackling midfield enforcer who would not have allowed himself or his team-mates to be bullied by a player like United's Darren Fletcher.
"It is no good Wenger complaining about a lack of protection for his young players. They have to protect themselves."
