Lee Dixon heavily criticised Bayern Munich's centre-backs after they were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Despite winning the semi-final second leg 3-2 over Barcelona at the Allianz Arena, the Bundesliga giants were unceremoniously eliminated 5-3 on aggregate, and Dixon feels it was down to the poor performances of Pep Guardiola's central defenders Jerome Boateng and Mehdi Benatia.

"I don't care how good your coach is if your centre-backs are not very good," Dixon said on ITV.

"I've never rated Boateng. Benatia makes silly mistakes. They're chasing the ball. They don't know the danger around them."
