A host of big names are already being linked with Rick Parry's job at Liverpool.

The Times says Ian Ayre, the Liverpool commercial director, is the early front-runner to replace Parry, but Reds owner Tom Hicks will advertise the job, with Keith Edelman, the former Arsenal managing director, Alistair Mackintosh, the Fulham chief executive, and Brian Barwick, the former FA chief executive, names in the frame.
