Former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan insists there shouldn't be any complaints over Antoine Griezmann's expected departure.

The attacker is set to sign for Barcelona this summer.

"I understand these situations. I've lived through them," Forlan told El Transistor. "When I left Uruguay to play abroad, it was to earn more money, firstly in Argentina and then in England. That happens as you improve. It's the same with Griezmann.

"If we say that people are angry with a player then we're forgetting when we bought him from Real Sociedad, just like Barcelona want to do today.

"If you do it yourself, you can't complain when somebody else does it. If someone wants to leave, they will go and we must respect that he is a professional. I wonder if fans complaining about Griezmann would turn down the offer of much higher wages for their own jobs."
