Diego Forlan is delighted to have completed his move to Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguay international striker watched from Venezuela as his move from Villarreal was agreed yesterday.

"I am very excited, it's important now to hope that everything is signed and sealed," said Forlan. "But all the signs are good.

"I must thank the people of Villarreal, to the fans, my teammates and the directors.

"I have great ambition to go to a very important team like Atletio Madrid and hope to be successful there."
