Liverpool have released forgotten left-back Jose Enrique from his contract with the club.

Enrique's contract was originally scheduled to expire in the summer, but both parties mutually agreed to terminate it early so he can begin searching for a new club.

The 30-year-old was signed by former manager Kenny Daglish from Newcastle United in 2011, however, after falling out of favour with Brendan Rodgers last season, could manage only 12 appearances for the Reds during last two seasons.

During his five years at Anfield, Enrique made a total of 99 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
