Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs is planning for a triathlon career!

Giggs, who will celebrate his 39th birthday next month, has told friends that he is keen to take part in the gruelling endurance event - the longest of which ­comprises a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile marathon run, says the Sunday Mirror.

The Welshman has always taken great pride in his physical fitness and has taken up yoga to prolong a playing career with United that is now in its 23rd ­season.

And it seems he isn't going to take it easy when the time comes to step away from football.

Giggs has been visiting a pool in Manchester for regular lessons to improve his swimming technique.
