Nottingham Forest sensation Britt Assombalonga is in line for a first England U21 call.
England face a two-legged play-off against Croatia to reach the 2015 Euros.
The Telegraph says Assombalonga, 21, has scored eight goals already this season and could continue his meteoric rise after England U21 coach Gareth Southgate discussed his progress with Forest manager Stuart Pearce.
Southgate was at the City Ground earlier this month when Assombalonga, a £5.5m summer signing from Peterborough, scored against Derby County in the 1-1 draw.
