Forest head for the USA and pre-season friendlies

ChampionshipNottingham Forest will play two matches in America as part of their pre-season. Steve Cotterill's side are to spend a fortnight in the USA during pre-season and will face Orlando City (July 21) and Charleston Battery (July 28) during their stay.

Both sides play in the US Pro League, with Orlando winning the USL Pro American Division, Regular Season and Play-off Championships in its inaugural 2011 season.

"I am pleased with the way things are coming together," Cotterill told the club's official website. "Once we had the flights booked it was easy to drop the games in and now I am running my eye over training areas and making sure we book the right hotels.

"You know that you are going to be playing against teams that are really fit as they are well into their season by that point. We will be up against fit, athletic players who will run the legs off you, which is what you need in pre-season.

"The weather will be good, but not so hot that you can't train; the training facilities will be of the highest standard and you know you are going to be served good food in America."
