Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce is unimpressed by the England call up of Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
Shelvey's appearance in England's senior squad came amid suggestions he was "reticent" to play for the under-21s as he viewed it as a step down having already played for his country at the highest level.
And that has clearly annoyed Pearce, the former U21 coach.
"I'll ask the question why hasn't Shelvey been involved in international football for the last year," said former England defender Pearce.
"I'd like to know the answer, he's been fully fit.
"If he's not made himself available how the hell has he got an England senior call-up?"
