Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has warned his team may not be strong enough to emulate last season's play-off qualification following their 1-1 npower Championship draw with Watford. And Davies - who says he has been unable to strengthen the team that finished third last season - believes expectations are too high.
"Because of the lack of expansion when we were on a high point and we finished third then what you see is what you get with this team.
"They'll win, they'll lose and they'll draw and they are what they are. We are not a top six side and anybody who thinks we are is like comparing that to Britain ruling the world as far as I'm concerned.
"We are what we are, we're getting what we're getting, I can ask no more of this team.
"I compare ourselves with Liverpool for example where you can't blame the previous manager, you can't blame the current manager but the facts are if you want to be a top six side in the Premier League, if you want to be a top six side in the Championship, then you have got to, in my opinion, bring in stellar signings to keep the club moving forward."
Davies praised his players for fighting back to claim a draw at Vicarage Road, adding: "Watford are very competitive, you've got to go and fight your corner and in the end I think I'll probably be more pleased with a point than my opposite number."
