Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is being linked with Sam Allardyce's job at West Ham United.
The Telegraph says Davies is the shock name in the frame to take over at West Ham if co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold finally bow to growing pressure and sack Allardyce.
Davies was in charge of the Nottingham Forest team who thrashed a young West Ham side 5-0 in the FA Cup last Sunday.
West Ham chiefs have considered what they would do if Allardyce cannot turn around the increasingly desperate situation and Davies is understood to feature high in their contingency plans. Davies was considered for the West Ham job before Allardyce took over from Avram Grant in 2011 and has continued to impress.
